MultiLys probes are based on lanthanide elements. They are multimodal markers allowing observation by fluorescence after UV excitation (Eu doping) or near infrared excitation (Tm / Yb doping), by X-ray tomography as well as by MRI. They are available naked or functionalized with PEG molecules for a long lifetime in bloodstream. MultiLys probes are also ideal for cell tracking. The probes are incorporated by endocytosis into the cells cytoplasm (on in vitro cell cultures) and then, after injection, cells can be monitored by in vivo imaging.
Effective contrast agents in T2 MRI
MultiLys 625 T2 probe is based on Gadolinium oxysulfide. It can be observed in fluorescence, usually with an excitation at 365 nm for an emission centered on 625 nm. This probe can also be excited by two photons (720-740 nm). It also present a strong contrast by T2 MRI as well using X-ray tomography.
The MultiLys 625 T2 probe is also an excellent scintillator. Excited by X-rays, it emits a strong red luminescence (624 and 720 nm), thus making it possible to use a bimodal CT-Luminescence imager using XEOL (X-ray Excited Optical Luminescence) imagery as described by Professor JN Anker.

MultiLys 625 T2
MultiLys 670 T2 and 780 T2 probes are based on Dysprosium oxysulfide on which are grafted cyanine-based chromophores. It is observed in fluorescence with an excitation centered on 650 nm (or 750 nm) for an emission centered on 670 (or 780 nm). They can also be observed using T2 MRI imaging as well X-ray compted tomography (CT). They are particularly suitable for in vivo cellular “tracking” .

Effective contrast agents in T1 MRI
The MultiLys 650 T1 probe is based on a ruthenium complex (Ru) encapsulated within a silica shell, on which a Gd-DTPA complex has been grafted onto the surface.
It is an effective positive contrast agent in T1 MRI and in X-ray tomography (CT).

Conventionally they are available naked or made hydrophilic and furtive toward the immune system by polyethylene glycol. Others functionalizations are possible on demand.
