MultiLys 780 T2 is a multimodal probe, which can be used to perform angiography. Indeed, its contrasting properties with X-rays, MRI and fluorescence allow to visualize blood vessels when injected directly into the bloodstream. Coated with polyethylene glycol layer, it has a long half life in blood circulation (≈ 40 min in mice)
However, after 1 h or more, this probe is picked up by the reticuloendothelial system and is stored in the liver for several weeks. Therefore, it may also serve as a liver marker. The healthy tissues of the liver will be labeled, unlike cancerous or non-functional tissues.
